On Monday, Nov 17 I was invited by CTG to watch Dr. Fred Matiang'i, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and Technology for the Government of Kenya's talk, hosted by UAlbany Center for International Development.

The presentation titled Enhancing ICT for Public Service Delivery in Emerging Economies – Gains and Challenges in Africa was great!
I felt very happy to hear from Dr. Fred himself that SMS will still have long life. This makes me feel stronger to defend my PhD thesis, to design a conceptual Business Model in mGovernment with a particular focus on low cost and long range technologies for developing countries.

The presentation was in the Standish Room of the Science Library on the Uptown Campus, the same place we had the reception party last week.
