Shaohui presentation at CTG

Today Shaohui made a presentation for all the CTG staff, about his city, university and research.

He is a professor at School of Politics and Public Administration -Wuhan University.

It was very interesting to learn about China from a native Chinese. They speak about their numbers with naturalitily. Until now, the population number about China is amazing to me. For a exemple, only the number of students from Shaohui University represent half of Albany population. Imagine it!

See how impressive the numbers about internet and mobile phone penetration are. The numbers are impressive, however the percentage looks like Brazil, only half of polulação have internet access.

His research interests: Legal issues related to E-government, Open Government and Public services (E-services) based on mobile Internet.

At the end of the presentation, Shaohui showed us a very interesting app which is quite used in China  called "WeChat".
WeChat is a moblie text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China, first released in January 2011. In 2014 August it achieved 438 million (another impressive number) active users; with 70 million outside of China.
